Map of the North Pole made in 1640 by Jan Jansson in Amsterdam.
The reason I posted this map was because there seems to be more than one North Pole here. There appears to be nine of them including the one in the center. The curved lines joining these "poles" together almost appear to look like magnetic field lines when magnets come close to each other. The 4 outermost poles all rest on the Arctic Circle. All the outer poles are drawn to point toward the center. I have heard before that when one gets close to the North Pole the compass starts behaving oddly. If it is true that there are 9 poles, then this map would give a somewhat accurate way to navigate with a compass inside the Arctic Circle.
If anyone has information on what this map represents please feel free to comment.
