These files are provided for users who are in the need to sync their Minidisc recorders with a Windows-based PC, or simply for those who are interested on how this software evolved during its lifespan.
This archive originally contained all possible SonicStage versions circulating around the Internet. OpenMG Jukebox and Music Center for PC 1.0 were included too, as it contains common dynamic link libraries. Music Center for PC 2.0 and above are not included because it was rewritten as a Chromium app.
According to an administrator of Sony Insider forums, SonicStage 4.3 Ultimate was built with portions of SonicStage V, so we can consider it a hybrid variant.
This archive contains the following files:
OpenMG Jukebox 2.2
SonicStage 4.3 (Vanilla & Ulitmate)
SonicStage 4.4 (Japanese)
SonicStage V (The Japan-only 5.0 release).
Music Center for PC 1.0 (Based on SonicStage V).
Downloading a Specific Version
Choose ISO Image, ZIP or Windows Executable on the right toolbar. An arrow will appear. Click on it to show a drop-down menu. Every version is highlighted on the list for you. Most files were repackaged in ISO format but can be uncompressed using a ZIP-based decompression tool.
Information about SonicStage V and MD Recorder Owners
Please note that SonicStage V (JP) and Music Center for PC V1 (based on former SonicStage V code) won't connect with MD players. The latest supported versions for those devices is v4.3 (English) and v.4.4 (Japanese).
SonicStage 1.5 to 3.4 may not work under Windows Vista or above. The recommended versions are 4.3, 5.0 and Music Center 1.0. Versions below (and including) 4.4 do work with Windows XP.
Please consider the dangers of using outdated software under production-use systems. Installations under virtual machines are recommended.
These files were gathered from different sources, including the special 4.3 version crafted for Sony Insider Forum users. Some versions of SonicStage were taken from OEM CD's, such as Sony CLIÉ handhelds. The very last version of SonicStage Generation 4 was uploaded thanks to the rectification of an Archive.org user.
May 23, 2020 Subject:
The information you have provided is slightly incorrect as SonicStage 4.4 (Japanese only) is in fact the last release that supports Minidisc. I have tried it myself and am in the process of translating it (partially for now). So SonicStage 4.4 and not 4.3 CP is the last to support minidisc. Thanks however for putting up this archive.
