Leave It to Beaver ~ Complete Series
Leave It to Beaver is an American television situation comedy about an inquisitive and often naïve boy named Theodore "The Beaver" Cleaver (portrayed by Jerry Mathers) and his adventures at home, in school, and around his suburban neighborhood. The show also starred Barbara Billingsley and Hugh Beaumont as Beaver's parents, June and Ward Cleaver, and Tony Dow as Beaver's brother Wally. The show has attained an iconic status in the United States, with the Cleavers exemplifying the idealized suburban family of the mid-20th century.
The show was created by writers Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher. These veterans of radio and early television found inspiration for the show's characters, plots and dialogue in the lives, experiences and conversations of their own children. Leave It to Beaver is one of the first primetime sitcom series written from a child's point of view. Like several television dramas and sitcoms of the late 1950s and early 1960s (Lassie and My Three Sons), Leave It to Beaver is a glimpse at middle-class, American boyhood. In a typical episode Beaver got into some sort of trouble, then faced his parents for reprimand and correction. However, neither parent was omniscient; indeed, the series often showed the parents debating their approach to child rearing, and some episodes were built around parental gaffes.

Subject: Nice To Watch.....
Leave It to Beaver aired from October 4th 1957 until June 20th 1963 so basically before my time (though I born in May 1963). I’m 57 years old now and really enjoying this show. I didn’t realize how much Beaver and Wally lied to their parents to avoid getting into trouble...HA! It’s nice to watch these episodes because the language is clean and the stories are enjoyable.

"Huge" Beaumont....
Tony "Endowed"....
and "Jerry Lathers."..
pile into the Chrysler and backs out the driveway.....at the very last second before fade out....
Ward slams on the brakes and The Beaver's head does a major bobble...
Now (as a kid) that was funny!!!

Subject: Love it!
Enjoy watching over and over. Just relax and have fun without over analyzing. Relished most of the characters especially Larry Mondello and Eddie Haskell. The only one I detested and still do is the prissy, snobby Aunt Martha. Yuch. She makes my skin crawl. i adore Uncle Billy!
Another observation is I've always wondered if anyone ever knew a kid as dumb as Beaver. Did anyone?

Better written than the later episodes. Probably first season. There are throwbacks to 1930's movies in this episode, especially June's demeaner. The housekeeper is soo 1930's as well. (promptly written out, apparently) This pre-wartime aspect disappears in subsequent seasons and things go very 1950's style.
We almost never watched this. My mom forbade it. June Cleaver made my mom look like a dowdy old cleaning lady and to top it off, her good friend down the block (11 years younger) looked just like June and was still making babies. That aggravates 45 year old women who walk around the house wearing crew socks and a cleaning rag wrapped around her head.
This series was OK. "Beaver" was apparently of borderline mentality (which my dad disliked) but the script was appropriately written to address that.
At age twelve I had a crush on Wally's friend Eddie Haskell.

I was so happy to find the whole series,,or close to! I did own the DVDs and had to sell them. Hardly any of the videos on YouTube had a complete show! I love LITB and I can even cast it to my tv screen!

When LITB was taken off Netflix I was soooo disappointed,
Watching this show every night helps me escape, I didn't have the best childhood or parents that acted like this! Love the way Beaver and Wally treat each other! My brother/sister picked on me, nothing like this...God Bless All the people involved in making this precious, Classy show! Wish they showed reruns at night for young people to see!
