Dating back to at least the 1920s as part of Class Day activities before commencement, Middlebury graduates once gathered to take a few puffs on long white pipes to celebrate their big day. This compilation of 16mm film footage from the College archives captures the tradition from the 1930s to the 1940s, after which it seems to have disappeared from the Senior Week festivities.
