Yellow chevrons on scarlet background for the United States Marine Corps from 1929 to 1937. Number 4 is not shown, it is for a Master Technical Sergeant (Mess) and has three chevrons over three bars below and a crescent moon in the center. Numbers 28 and 29 not shown, No.28 is of drum sticks for a Drummer and No.29 is a trumpet for a Trumpeter. The latter two no not have a chevron over each specialty mark.

Evolution of United States Navy cuffs and collars from 1841 to 1948 when finally they remained the same afterward. Ranks of enlisted men was shown on the cuffs with one to three stripes, usually and one to three stripes on the collar if any, some with and some without added stars. Often cuffs and collars were worn and later approved through orders.
