The Wagon Train will arrive in Pollock Pines on June 10, five days after the Wagon Train leaves Stateline, where the celebration will kick into high gear at the Pollock Pines-Camino Community Center on Sanders Drive, just off Pony Express Trail.
A full day of entertainment, from noon to 10 p.m., will include wagon rides, gold panning and mountain men demonstrations, a poker tournament, crafters and vintage vendors. Live entertainment by the Cash Only Band and 120 West will get the cowboy boots to shuffling and quick-stepping, and the kids will love the watermelon and pie-eating contests, face painting, magicians, balloons, pony rides, ice cream, snow-cones and more.
All that lively action will spark the appetite, so there will be planting of chuck wagon barbecue, including ribs, available, along with plenty of choices in the beer and wine garden. Local brews and samples from the area’s premier wineries will be sold.
Admission is free; bring the pocketbook to indulge in the food, drink and wonderful crafts and souvenirs. Read more at http://www.mtdemocrat.com/prospecting/wagon-train-bringing-big-party-back-to-pollock-subhed-placerville-set-to-celebrate-the-next-day-too/
