Sessional Papers of Canada Collection

The Sessional Papers of the Dominion of Canada--

Sessional Papers are reports and papers which have been tabled in the House of Commons (and sometimes the Senate) and deposited with the Clerk. These papers include annual reports of government departments and boards, the Estimates, the Public Accounts, and the reports of the Royal Commissions.

Material for this collection has been provided by Robarts Library, University of Toronto; Toronto Public Library: Research and Reference Libraries; Brian Dickson Law Library, University of Ottawa; and the Library of Parliament.

The Sessional Papers are available in both English and French.

Prior to 1907, this information was published as a part of the "Annual Reports of the Department of Marine and Fisheries." Title varies widely between front page, first page title and title listed in introductory letter. From 1907-1912, this title was also known as "Report of the Chairman of the Board of Steamboat Inspection."

From 1900 - 1903, this report was titled "Report of the North-West Mounted Police;" From 1904 - 1919, it was titled "Report of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police." From 1920 - 1924, it was titled "Report of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police." In 1906, a supplementary report titled "Supplementary Report of the Royal North-west Mounted Police. Mackenzie River District" was also produced, and is included in this serial record.
