Series lacks a title leaf; title supplied from Hollstein. Except for the dedication leaf the plates were etched by the van Doetecum brothers (see Hollstein)
Library's copy lacks leaf with dedication to Antoine Perrenot and 4 of the 28 views (Hollstein 75, 77, 84, 94). Publisher and date from 1st leaf in Library's copy (Hollstein 95). However, the 11th print shows the irregularly cut upper right corner and the crack at lower center that are characteristic of later eds. (see Hollstein 96), and the plates appear to have been retouched
Binding: modern coarse gray paper, quarter gray suede. On spine in blue ink: VRIESE. Bookplate of Giovanni Muzio on front pastedown. The prints are tipped onto stubs at their upper margins
The prints of Library's copy show three hand-written numbering sequences. What appears to be the oldest is in brown ink, and is made up of very small numerals at the lower right corner, usually within the image. It runs 73, 72, 68, 78, 62... The second sequence is in pencil and appears in the right margin or at the lower right corner. It runs 43, 41, 31, 38, 40... These numbers correspond to those added to the plates in Hollstein's 2nd state. The third sequence, also in pencil, appears in the right margins. It numbers the leaves of Library's copy as presently bound from 1 to 23, with 2a interpolated after 2. There is a pencil drawing of a carriage on the verso of the 3rd leaf
