it is still in copyright in some way
that is why you can only borrow and not download.
This is one of the better books published in the wonderful mid-century period, when only good quality content would make it past the publisher's desk. This is a valuable book, and is pricey on all the used book sellers lists. I managed to grab a copy for myself, and it included the original test pamphlet tucked into the pages. It is a wise investment, well worth the expensive price tag. They just don't put out books like this any more, period. The "Bishop Method" honestly I am not sure what that means, all I know is that this is a great, great book for sewing/garment cutters and makers, home sewists. There are quite a few patterns in the book and this is perfect for the very beginner sewist to the experienced seamstress. There are instructions in here on how to make the Chanel finishing on garments: a specific careful way of hemming and what not, anyway, way worth reading. I think this one book is one of my absolute favorite books in my bookcase.

So Wonderful I bought a copy for myself
This title so appealed to me that I went ahead and purchased a copy off of Amazon. You will find they are not cheap, and for good reason: desirability. The instructional books out today are designed to stupefy, bore, advertise for some photographer or build the ego of a middling writer. It is almost as if there is some recent plan bizarre conspiracy to de-educate the populace instead of educating and informing, apparently this title was published BEFORE this "conspiracy" (I know it sounds nutty but it's all I can come up with for the reason behind the poorly written and badly written things out now) took effect. There was a big boom in instructional DIY and how-to's in the middle of the 20th century, and many are collectible and also extremely useful, decades later and probably for ever:) This title actually teaches, and even if you're a novice with your 1st sewing machine, or a fashion merchandiser with their own shop, you will use this book. It isn't huge, but it contains all the necessaries: tailored button holes just like high end fashion houses would make them. Even a beginner can put out skirts, shirts, aprons, and suits from scratch beginning to end with this book and this is no joke. If you've ever dreamed of creating your own wardrobe, but are afraid to get started or fear you are too inexperienced to "do it right", this book will give you ALL you need, and I mean all - from cutting out to choosing which fabrics make "what".
What a wonderful book, and one of the best ones Ive owned.Ive seen these sell for almost 200USD online, cheapest priced at around 60USD.
This title instructs so well you will not need consult other books or the internet for outside assistance in the projects.
