A simple, 3D-printable scaffold for a 1700 MHz helical antenna feed. Supports wire with up to 4.5mm diameter.
Can (and should) be printed with no supports and a big layer height. Uses significantly less plastic and prints much faster than comparable 3D-printed helical feeds.
Before winding, it is important to pre-form solid-core wire into a rough helix shape (see below). If you wind solid-core wire directly into the scaffold there's a good chance that one of the legs will break.
