i started working with danny boyle and we went up to glasgow and worked with recovering addicts and one guy became our heroin advisor on set. i went to one of their recovery meetings and i watched these young guys and girls come in and i saw the extraordinary suffering they were going through and the pain in their eyes and i thought it would be enormously disrespectful to them for me to go try heroin. >> stephen: to dabble. i didn't need to. it wasn't necessary. so i asked all of these people give us their time, and i asked them to describe what it was like to withdraw and what it felt like when you injected heroin. i'm an actor and i have to use my imagination, so that's what we did. it would have been very disrespectful to them to have done that. >> stephen: when i watched trainspotting, i needed some of the subtitles for some of the scenes. is that scotland's revenge on the english? little film called train spotting two. i grew up loving danny boyle. he's a brilliant film maker directed slumdog missile millionaire, steve jobs. the same four actors including i was want, greg gore back for this movie. first movie dealt with heroin addiction and mcgregor's character was trying to get over that addiction a very very incredibly well made movie for its time in '96. you never see anything like it before. it was shot well. it was shocking. this particular film is just the i love. it doesn't feel like sequel feels like you're catching up with these guys 20 years later. and that made it work. i loved that. that shot blows my mind when he's falling. it's a really well made movie i& recommend seeing it just prepare yourself it's not for kids whatsoever. it is as shocking and as kind of crazies the first train spotting. >> and why did danny boyle say they're calling it t2 train spotting. >> why the f2. >> pokes the nerd bear. >> i thought this was awesome. >> this is pretty cool. basically f2 is reference to terminator two. >> right. >> the movie i fell in love with when
