editorial. with us former arkansas governor mike huckabee. welcome back to the program. what do you think about general kelly bringing discipline and one voice to the white house. is the president going to listen? >> i think he will because he has got someone who in essence a peer. somebody on the same level. has been ceo of something really, really big. in this case a military operation. battlefield command. all of these are great qualities. a person like general kelly is truly tested. he doesn't care whether people like him or not. he has taken people combat. he has been in the position where he knows that the decision he makes and the way he leads, in his case, had a choice of whether people lived or died. now nobody will live or die what he does as chief of staff per se, but i think it's a good choice, a solid choice, the president is wise to pick him. stuart: does he have some diplomatic skills? because he is going to have to be a bit diplomatic when it comes to dealing with members of congress. these are politicians. he is a military guy. the president is a business guy. a hug

contributor mike huckabee joins me. governor, good to have you back. good to see you. is there anything different or anything special about these particular protests happening now in germany as we watch these pictures come in? >> probably not, trish. most of these protesters are part of what security officials openly call rent a mob. these are people who literally travel the world. they've been to see more of the globe than most of us ever will. but the question is who finances these people? but they're the same people. i had a security people tell me at a republican convention. these are the same folks. same people. same faces, and they show up all over the world. this is not unusual, and the only thing we can hope is that there's a good security force in place to keep them from really disrupting the meetings. trish: i was mentioning when i was at g8 there in germany, i was caught up in some of those protests as i was reporting on it. but none of it became so bad that it was out of hand. and to your point in some ways, it looks rather streamlined in that people are professional protest

putin friday as the g20 summit. bring in former governor mike huckabee. good to see you, governor? >> good afternoon, how you doing, liz. liz: and happy 4th. the president's meeting with vladimir putin looks like the first formal conversation between putin and a u.s. president in nearly two years. okay, so is president trump more worried about the media attacking him over appearing cozy with putin or getting scolded things over climate change by germany's angela merkel, what do you think he's worried about? >> neither one of them. donald trump isn't a man that is easily rattled. fascinating meeting between putin and the president. i wish i could be there to watch it. though i don't expect there to be a lot of substantive conversation in that initial encounter. i think it's going to be two alpha males, sizing each other up, i think the body language is far more important to watch than anything that either of them say, but this is going to be an interesting contrast between donald trump, who's like the muhammad ali, who looks like to use a lot of hyperbole, goes into the ring with b
