event with deb fischer, we probably work the most together on the republican side. she's a neighbor from nebraska. we grew up much the same way. of -- acrossone the aisle, one of the relationships i cherished the most was senator houston gillibrand of new york -- senator kiersten gillibrand of new york. we do have very different -- policy ideas on probably 95% of the issues out 5%re, if you can find that of the policies and issues you want to work on together, then we work on those issues. if we share those passions, why not? when we are outside of the senate, we don't talk politics, we talk about our family. i value that. army background and served in iraq driving supply convoys. tell us about that. were there hair-raising moments? >> there were a few. this was the beginning of the war, the early part of iraqi freedom one. wen we got into country, were permanently stationed in kuwait at cap marathon. what we did was pick up supplies from the ports and warehouses and we would push as far north as baghdad international airport and log-based sites. we would pick up those supplies and

potentially probably safest republican seats, deb fischer in nebraska, john ba ross, so in wyoming, so he wants to expand the field in order to, you know, sort of scramble it a little bit but maybe more importantly, to have a nationalized consolidated message. it's us versus them. they're corrupt, they got the money, we don't have the money, we have the sort of grassroots, about the populist, trying to do that on a national scale as opposed to trying to pick a republican off here and there. >> so he's been meeting with really rich donors in new york city and other states, the mercer family, who is huge for for this president, got a big chunk of money from them, one of these attempts, the idea, choke off the funding from mitch mcconnell. but what's to say it will be successself in. >> it might not. it might not. this is sort of the second part of the strategy, like you said, to try to choke funding for the establishment republicans. we are told that he, bannon, met over the weekend in connecticut with a series of donors who traditionallily give to mcconnell and mcconnell backed repu
