from an animal shelter. that's where we find kpix 5's katie neilson with this bizarre story and more details this morning. >>> yeah, kenny so police say this all started wednesday night and they were able to arrest the men at this starbucks here in hayward. and when they did, they actually found two of the stolen puppies in the mens' car. that's all according to hayward police. this started wednesday night when three men broke into family dog on surveillance video. stealing computers along with two husky puppies and a pit bull puppy. the animal rescue posted pictures of the puppies online but someone else posted those same photos online trying to sell the puppies. a supporter of the shelter contacted the sellers and offered to buy the puppies back and agreed to meet them at starbucks. that's when hayward police stepped up and arrested those suspects in that investigation. >> the people who stole these dogs probably did something fairly stupid and stealing them from a shelter that has a very wide base of support. >> the puppies were checked out by a vet and appear to be okay. they're

area shelter. kpix 5's joe vazquez is live in hayward with the story tonight. >> reporter: yeah. we are in a safeway parking lot in hayward and you could see police activity. you can see the red car. that is the director of the animal shelter. she just recovered two of three puppies stolen from her shelter late last night. three men wearing hoodies walked into the rescue, they seemed to know where they were going as they walked toward the puppies and stole three of them. here you see them. the huskies were rescued from the streets of tijuana and also stole an pitbull who came from a shelter in stockton. he has mange for which he is receiving treatment. the staff has been busy trying to find the pup and this afternoon, a strange development, somebody else is posting the photos trying to sell the dogs. >> that is our photo. for sure our dog. >> reporter: the staffers asked the seller for video of the dogs. and they were sent these cell phone images. >> i mean, it is good because we can see real footage and it is like there are two huskies. and we had two huskies stolen. that is promis

enforcement. >>> a woman attacked outside her san francisco apartment complex. kpix 5's jackie ward joining us live from the san francisco hall of justice live with more. >> according to austin vincent's lawyers, the district attorney's office will throw out charges against him because vincent was living in southern california during a previous incident. it was this video that led to some charges for attacking a woman on the embarkedaro. it showed him violently wrestling with a woman trying to enter her condo. he was arrested just days after the attack. another woman came forward claiming vincent attacked her with a knife in february. but now the district attorney's office says it's received information vincent was in southern california at that time. the d.a. will ask that vincent remain in custody. will ask a judge he be placed back with a case management. he had been in full compliance and receiving housing and help. the office of the public defender wrote quote mr. vincent would continue to pursue the critical services he needs to stabilize his circumstances. those charges that
