the governor right now, governor mitch daniels is meeting with the family to talk about the damage here. the family who lived here, they survived, however, this is kind of a plot of farms, if you will, and many people here are related and unfortunately, an aunt and an uncle who lived across the road and they had a 4-year-old baby with them, they all died as did somebody else further down the road. however, an 82-year-old woman rode out the storm by herself just a quarter mile that way. it's really hard to imagine. all day here, we have seen this neighborhood come together. the family as well as friends picking up immediately. this has been a massive cleanup operation already trying to gather together everybody's belongings as best they can. to give you a sense of the damage over here, take a look, the trees completely stripped of their bark and you can see across the road, more damage. the police have been here and what's really been oppressive, i think, is to see the probably complete strangers showing up here and people who live in indiana showing up to help clean up, to cut down

henriville, they got a visit from governor mitch daniels who also went to merry'sville that was wiped off of the map. he said unfortunately, the indiana emergency crews have far too much practice in this kind of thing. i will toss tow my colleague john >> we are in the delano community outside of chattanooga, tennessee. can you see the detruction and what used to be a house lifted off of its foundation yesterday. we spoke to christopher johns last night. just before the tornado arrived he was out on the front porch looking at the severe moving in and saw a funnel cloud drop down from the sky and as soon as it touched the ground . didn't get further from the kitchen when the house was picked off and destroyed around him. he survived unskate had a bad scrape but four other family members he had to help free to the wreck yadge get to the nearby hospital. his neighbors were injured as well we pan around and look at what is going on in the neighborhood. utility crews as mike toban was talking about earlier. this is a scene you are seeing in the path of the storm that came through here. restori
