problems if you're traveling south over the grapevine into los angeles or san diego. off our coast, we have the low clouds there. that's what you're seeing moving into san francisco. but notice the bands of high clouds passing fresno and bakersfield. take a look at what's happening over southern california. counterclockwise rotation, that's an easterly wave that usually comes out of western mexico. but in this case, it's rotating around that ridge of high pressure and moving into san diego and los angeles. the green areas you see here, flash flood watches, including l.a. county down into san diego. this is where most of the moisture is going to be for the end of the weekend. some of that upper level moisture could try to drift over the bay area late tomorrow though most of the action i think is going to be over the sierras. so the chances of seeing monsoon moisture to wrap up the weekend, most of it looks confined to the sierra in terms of the possibility of generating some thunderstorms. high clouds come into the day tomorrow. due to the lightning, we have a fire weather watch to wrap
