and have been through kind of the usual suspects, durrell, chiarelli, mandolin, nicholas gage. so i looked for something a little bit different. this time i read a book called "the silence of the girls," and this is a mann booker award winner. pat barton, a british writer, and it's the iliad as told from the perspective of a woman. on the lighter or maybe darker side, i read a couple of mysteries that are set in greece. one was called "murder in mykonos," and that's written by an expatriot whose name wasly seeger. a really good one was "the house on paradise street," and this is the story of a family torn apart by the greek civil war. and it's like any civil war where a family usually comes up to or often comes down on different sides. and that was written by sophia -- [inaudible] and finally, just really just kind of a beach book by meg densely is "nights of rain and stars," and that's the story of four probag nists whose -- protagonists whose lives intersect, and one of them is a college professor who's on sabbatical, so i could personally identify with that. >> how do you select
