abc2's cheryl conner has more. >> reporter: it's a tough day at headquarters. it's the first day of school for dr. dallas dance. a news conference wrapped up about 33 minutes ago. we did learn that school will be held tomorrow. he also said there will be additional security and staff in place. dr. dance talked about the principal for the bravery and the heroic actions of one man who stepped in and took down the shooter. we asked about the code red poly. he said it's something he worked on revaling before taking his position as superintendent. >> all of our schools have school safety plans. when i came on board in july i met with the u.s. marshals as well as the -- fire marshals as well as the chief. they did a great job of following the plan to a t. >> reporter: he certainly emphasized that, really thanking the staff. you can imagine if that person didn't step in, we could be talking about a horrific event at perry hall high school. one thing that's missing, the name and more information on the shooting and the victim. all that he would say is both are students

abc2's cheryl conner has more. >> reporter: the van that was involved in the crash, we're at madison and enzoe. a school bus and a mini van collided. it was really close to la trobe homes. it happened around 3 this afternoon. a spokesman for the baltimore city fire department said 11 students suffered non-life-threatening injuries. all 13 patients were transported to area hospitals but are expect to survive. now how the accident happened, baltimore city police say they're still investigating that, but what we know is the city school bus and a mini van collided. a pedestrian in the area was also hit. 13 people all sent to the hospital, two adults. the pedestrian and the driver of the mini van and 11 children, all of them non-life-threatening injuries. we'll be keeping our eyes on this throughout the night. cheryl con next website -- conner, abc2 news. >>> looks like the meningitis outbreak is getting worse. federal officials are now tying meningitis to many groups of people. >> reporter: federal health officials are sounding the alarm on fungal meningitis. it was made by new england c

cheryl conner, abc2 news. >>> tonight's crash comes on the heels of another accident last night that claimed the lives of three siblings in bel air. jeff hager joins us with this story. >> reporter: a veering car in the lone stretch of two lane road with no rom for error. the three victims who died all came from a single family. >> ashley, joey. >> reporter: a family photo captures one of the last images of 29-year-old david bauguess. his younger sister ashley and 17-year-old joey, all killed in a single accident in bel air monday night. >> i told my wife it was an accident. she thought the kids had hit something or something. when she said all three of her kids were dead, she lost it. >> reporter: the chevrolet cavalier crossed the center line here on route 543 just south of wheel road, side swiping one car before spinning into the path of another one. the impact of the crash split the car in two, macking it difficult to know who was driving at the time. as highway workers continue to clear debris from the crash on tuesday, one of ashley's friends stopped and looked on in disbelief.

cheryl conner has a look at how they're honoring her. >> reporter: she certainly is back. the jv la crosse team is warming up at perry hill high school. they are honoring the teammate who collapsed on the feld back in september from a condition that prevented healthy blood flow to her heart. several people jumped in to perform cpr before she went through surgery at university of maryland. i'm so happy to have brianna and the two strongest people to her side. tell us how you're feeling? >> great. can't wait to get back on the field. >> reporter: absolutely. bro anna, you have really exemplified a true team player. tell us what you're doing? >> managing the la crosse team. >> reporter: you can't play but you're not giving up on your team. >> no. >> reporter: that's awesome. just tell us what your family has been through and little bit more about how brie anna is doing. >> as you can imagine as a parent it was very traumatizing. overall her healing and surgery have been going very well. again, we're very blessed. again, we're just very happy with the outcome. >> reporter: cer

cheryl conner has the latest. >> reporter: you can imagine police say the victim is having a hard time but they're trying to work with her to gather evidence. a news conference just wrapped up about an hour ago. police say a woman in her 20s was out jogging in fells point between 5 and 7 this morning when a man armed with a knife pulled her down and raped her. spokesman anthony deyoung said the suspect was armed with a knife. he's not saying if the victim was also stabbed. the rape happened in fells point but he's not certain of an exact location. he's hoping to confirm that through surveillance cameras that are in the area. he said the victim is having a tough time, so she has not been able to go out to the location to help with the investigation. all we knee at -- know at this point is that a rape suspect is on the lose, that he is an adult man armed with a knife and possibly wearing a mask. the victim said it happened in fells point between 5 and 7 this morning, certainly information we'll be gathering as we go through the night. cheryl conner, abc2 us. >> they will be following the
