san francisco, kpix 5. >> thank you for that update. >>> now to a developing story. we have a better idea now why a judge abruptly dismissed preachers in the go ship warehouse trout. two of the three could be facing contempt charges. in a hearing today the judge sent dead two jurors allegedly violated her rules. she had prohibited jurors from reading outside material on the case. there were also told ttoot jury room. kpix 5, on what these jurors did to get themselves in trouble. >> reporter: before they go into deliberations there given specific instructions by a judge. not to do any outside investigation. it turns out that two of the jurors possibly went online, received text messages, did some outside research, outside deliberations. is there a caught wind of that, learned that they had done that. all three of those jurors were then taken into the judges chambers. they were questioned individually about what they had done, what they had learned, what they had read. and it was decided by the judge that all three of them needed to be excused. >> three alternate jurors have fac

area shelter. kpix 5's joe vazquez is live in hayward with the story tonight. >> reporter: yeah. we are in a safeway parking lot in hayward and you could see police activity. you can see the red car. that is the director of the animal shelter. she just recovered two of three puppies stolen from her shelter late last night. three men wearing hoodies walked into the rescue, they seemed to know where they were going as they walked toward the puppies and stole three of them. here you see them. the huskies were rescued from the streets of tijuana and also stole an pitbull who came from a shelter in stockton. he has mange for which he is receiving treatment. the staff has been busy trying to find the pup and this afternoon, a strange development, somebody else is posting the photos trying to sell the dogs. >> that is our photo. for sure our dog. >> reporter: the staffers asked the seller for video of the dogs. and they were sent these cell phone images. >> i mean, it is good because we can see real footage and it is like there are two huskies. and we had two huskies stolen. that is promis

uchase center, a look inside that warriors new home. >> and the new kpix 5 news at 7:00 p.m. starts now with details on a tragging ride share crash. -- tragic ride share crash. police say it was a man in a stolen car that slammed into a lyft. a woman in the back seat was killed and kpix 5's andria borba reports police decided to end the pursuit minutes before the crash. >> reporter: that's right. the crash happened two and a half miles from where i am oic didn't take long for the suspect to get there and run a red light. late saturday night, officers recognized a stolen 1996 honda accord in this parking lot on duane avenue. they put spike strips under the tires to make an easy arrest. an hour later officers say the 32-year-old got into the vehicle. >> as soon as he did that, the officers activated their lights and approached the vehicle to try stop and detain the suspect. as soon as the lights went on he sped through had parking lot. >> the spike stripes failed. officers decided not to chase ing way too fast. >> our officers within a few seconds of seeing his disregard of safety of

kpix 5 news at 7 starts right now. >>> a father and son forced to cling to the son of a san francisco cliff. good evening i'm ken bastida. >> i'm elizabeth cook. >>> the dramatic scene played out at fort mason. betty yu is there for us live. >> reporter: the father and son were successfully rescued by san francisco fire after about 45 minutes here at fort mason. the fire chief tells me that the boy was on a bicycle, coming down the hill, just to my right. somehow his body went over the ledge and then went about 40 feet down that cliff. the father then climbed down to help him and then firefighters used a rope system to lower rescuers down. eventually, both of them were loaded onto a skiff to be put into an ambulance and rushed to the hospital. the fire chief said it is not known the extent of the boys injuries but he was conscious at the time of his rescue. we spoke with a few people who were familiar with this pretty steep hill. which meets venice, take a listen. >> i usually go up, i don't know how anybody would go over, going down you know. it sort of unbelievable, danger
