joining me is house speaker paul ryan. mr. speaker, thank you very much. first to london, how were you informed about i today, and is there any reason to increase security at our own capitol? >> well, hi, dana. nice to be with you. i was informed by my national security adviser this morning after the london attack happened. the u.s. capitol is arguably the greatest terror target in the world, so it is always under very very vigilant security. i'm sure that they're aware of this. they're upping their security posture and profile. this is something we in the capitol think about and prepare for every single day. by the way, i just have to say my sympathy is out to the victims and the police officer who was killed by this assailant. this just goes to show, dana, we are still at war with radical islamic terrorists, if that's what it is. we are being told that it is being treated as a terrorist investigation. that's what it looks like. it just shows we have to be vigilant about this in our society these day. >> dana: mr. speaker, going forward, in the next month

. >> oo we could talked a nauseum what this says about paul ryan as a speaker of the house. what does it say about the people around mr. trump? at the end of the day, if this guy is only talking about winning, if he doesn't get it, all those things considered, you still have people around you to help usher this thing through. what does it say about the people around the president? >> look who's around the president. steve bannon, kellyanne conway. these are not people that are going to temper the president's worst impulses. these are either enablers or people with such radical crazy ideas they will send the ship si sinking. when steve bannon says he wants to get rid of the administrative state, you can't run a government, what is the government if not an administrative state. they're just killing the government by attrition here, the fact there's nobody at the state department, the fact there's nobody at the justice department except at the highest level, the whole government remains unfilled. on the one hand you could say it's incompetence, on the other hand, this is steve

. >>> let's bring this to the speaker of the house. paul ryan. mr. speaker, thank you for joining us this morning. a lot to talk about this morning. i want to start out with the big bottom line question. you heard dr. gawande. he said this will make health care worse off on almost every level. can you guarantee if the house bill were to become law that no americans would be worse off than they are today? >> i fundamentally does agree with his analysis on so many levels. but first of all, good morning, george. it's good to be with you. let's remember what is happening right now. obamacare is collapsing. it's not working. what good is it for anybody, let alone for a person with pre-existing conditions if you don't have a health insurance plan that you can even get? this is a rescue mission. we want to achieve the goals we all want. getting the cost of coverage down and making sure everyone has access to affordable health care. especially and including people with pre-existing conditions. that is what our bill does. >> well let's take -- >> let me just
