that rain stretches all the way through virginia. the winds pick up too off the coast. 33 miles per hour. when you get around virginia beach, you are looking at 36 miles per hour. when you get on in towards the lower part of virginia, that's what it looks like there. rain stretches all the way back into western sports of virginia and northern parts of north carolina, too. and then the rain falls short of the philadelphia metro area. and heavier downpours around baltimore and in towards d.c. just off the jersey shore, 34-mile-per-hour sustained winds. it will gust today near 50, and it's already happening. watch for beach erosion. and it's going to be a rough couple days. the low will sit off the carolina coast and gradually shift to the east over the next couple days. look at the flash flood watches and warnings, and that's in the green. anticipating three to four inches of rain in the next 24 to 48 hours and that's in the red shade in northern parts of virginia. more of that in a bit. and it's a big day for local ski resorts. mt. ho

what i would say is, look at virginia. bob macdonald reached over, not by moderating his principles, but by saying that his principles were not only good for saying, no. he says he wants to grow the economy, but he just wants us to do it, not washington. there is a positive, republican agenda out there. we will see more of that in 2010. >> when i first opted to propose the question, this was slightly more off-base. i want to bring up the idea. i came down here from boston, where republican was a dirty word. not because of the belief system but the reputation. my question is how much opinion is placed in the word, republican or democrat. and how much is in the ideology. how much will this affect things over the last year? how much has that changed? >> it is an interesting attachment to the word republican, as there is to the word liberal. both of them have baggage right now. by a majority of two to one, people consider themselves republicans over liberal. the job will be to reattach conservative to the sound of democrat. >>

district court for the east and district of virginia. the military does not function as a rocket docket particularly in these cases. even though it is sometimes said that purpose of the military justice system is to dispense prompt, lichty split type justice. it doesn't function that way. it's quite a deliberate process. >> your first question, my understanding is actually that he right now, if i'm not mistaken, is not at fort hood anymore. he's in san antonio, if i'm not mistaken. so the expectation of where he would be following that -- i mean, he will most likely be kept in pretrial confinement. i don't know that he'll go back to fort hood. he may very well stay down in san antonio, and it also may function -- the answer is the ability is there to put him wherever. the jurisdictions -- while there's not a legal impediment to where he goes, there's probably a practical constraint. and my guess is i don't know why they would bring him back to fort hood unless they were going to have the trial there. >> in terms of the venue question, ob
