Very Nice Noise

This experiment is official over...

Very Nice Noise is primarily a netlabel, which means that we offer music that is available exclusively through free MP3 downloads, and we will eventually start releasing the occasional CD-R and DVD-R releases as well. All MP3 releases on this site are free for you to download and distribute as you wish, as long as it it not done for profit. The label was started to help give more control back to the talented artists of the noise "music" community by way of faster turn around times on releases, no file type restrictions (if you want to release in the less popular OGG format, that's cool with us) and by giving artists the ability to maintain their own artist profile on the site. Our genre focus, as our name suggests is noise (harsh noise, drone, glitch, power electronics and the like).

Very Nice Noise is a non-profit project, and any earnings made from the sale of our physical releases and other merchandise is applied towards our web site hosting fees and future physical releases. All rights of the artists and of their recorded material are reserved. All tracks and tracks and graphics are copyright of their respective authors.

Inspired by Cat as Furry Theremin's 32kbps releases comes one hour of music compressed in less than 4MB of space. At 8kbps, THIS IS TRUE LO-FI MUSIC.

"My longest single release ever: six hours of noise spanning 100 tracks. Some tracks are in the style of "Water Bottle Caps", using samples in irregular ways and turning rhythmic tracks into ambiance. Others are more styled in the way of "Floor of a Cell", in the way of harsh noise dispersed in short tracks. The rest of the tracks are remixes of old songs or re-releases of "Zero Acid" tracks. I suppose the only place to go from here is to make the 24 hour long...

Not sure I can describe this one any better than the title. The release is harsh noise in nature, and very rhythmic (like a dance album). Definitely a fun change to all the harsh noise that's devoid of rhythm.

I'm not quite sure where System 09 gets his pizza from, but I gotta try a slice. This release a glitched out mash up of noise, drum loops, computer sounds, vocal samples and even some classical mixed in. A very entertaining listen.

As the name may suggest, most of the tracks on this release give the listener the feeling of being locked in a cell and the dementia that may follow. Interspersed between the survival genre-esque tracks are some gems of harsh noise to keep the release varied enough to be interesting.

Glitch the way it should be. No care for rhythm, structure, pattern, or reason. Using samples from shows like Heroes to musicians like Devin Townsend, this release is over an hour of glitched noise. Originally released under the name of "Zero Acid".

Oscillations, swells and industrial drums, oh my! Wide range of different styles are represented on this release. Tracks bare little in common with each other yet all seem right at home. This one will keep you guessing.

From the Monotony of Sleep reminds of a whacked out dreamscape which it is the soundtrack. Starting with mostly subdued ambient textures, the release begins to pick up steam with an interspersion of beats and harsh noise only to resolve itself with static and fuzz before the flame on the candle fades away.

Slow moving waves of noise mix with dark ambient like textures all while being broken apart by some glitched out drum beats.

Quite the departure from the harsh noise that is usually produced by Texas' own System 09. This album is very beat driven at times, and I dare say some tracks could fall into the category of darkwave / dark ambient. The later tracks on the album are very glitchy and at times draw on the simple sounds of dadaism.

Harsh Noise gets boring after a while. This release uses manipulated versions of lofi tracks never released. Epic track lengths. A trip into ambiance ending with a low quality remix of breakbeats.

A nihilistic reflection of music. This release uses samples of old tracks, rock songs, and even a telephone conversion I had last week.
