The goal of the Newman Numismatic Portal is to create the world’s most comprehensive online encyclopedia of American and Colonial coinage, currency, realia, and related correspondence and published literature. Materials from the Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society’s coin collections and supporting reference libraries will be digitized along with Washington University Libraries’ collections and made freely available to an online community of scholars and enthusiasts.
The American Numismatic Society is an organization dedicated to the study of coins, currency, medals, tokens, and related objects from all cultures, past and present. The Society's headquarters in New York City has the foremost research collection and library specialized in numismatics in the United States. These resources are used to support research and education in numismatics, for the benefit of academic specialists, serious collectors, professional numismatists, and the interested public.
The Gaylord Music Library serves the music information needs of the Washington University community as part of the Olin Library System. The Music Library honors General Clifford A. Gaylord who was, until his death in 1952, a member of the Washington University Corporation. With the completion of the Gaylord building in 1960, the music library found a new home and has since developed into a major resource supporting research through masters and doctoral level programs.
The goal of the Newman Numismatic Portal is to create the world’s most comprehensive online encyclopedia of American and Colonial coinage, currency, realia, and related correspondence and published literature. Materials from the Eric P. A collection created by Internet Archive to separate bound resources from archival folders being digitized at the American Numismatic Society Library.
Eric P. Newman, numismatic scholar, was born in St. Louis in 1911. The Newman archives include papers from the estate of Burdette G. Johnson, a St. Louis dealer active in the first half of the 20th century. Newman further maintained personal correspondence files with hundreds of individuals beginning in the 1930s and extending into the 2010s. Newman also created research files on a variety of topics with particular focus on the pre-Federal era numismatics.

This Handbook is just what it sets out to be, and what is needed in the field of Jewish Coinage. Mel Wacks has contributed mightily to this field. And this Handbook - replacing his first version with an entirely new revision - is among his most important gifts. Somehow, Mel has managed to provide a work that is succinct without being superficial; that summarizes all the important material rather than limiting coverage through exclusion; and that simplifies complicated issues without...

Pollock examined approximately 10,400 auction appearances of examples of early U.S gold coins and attributed pieces using the Breen numbers published in Numismatic Scrapbook Magazine between 1963 and 1967. The most valuable aspect of this work are the condition censes that Pollock developed for each variety. Publication date is approximate.
