Based in San Francisco, MRR focuses on punk rock and hardcore music, and primarily features artist interviews and music reviews. Op/ed columns and news roundups are regular features as well, including submissions from international contributors. By 1990, it "had become the de facto bible of the scene". From “Strike One To Educate One Hundred”: On June 4, 1975 during a search for Chianti wine magnate Vittorio Gancia, kidnapped a few days earlier, a carabinieri patrol surprised Mara Cagol and other BR comrades in a farmhouse near Acqui. A brief firefight broke out in which Mara was badly wounded, captured, and then executed on the spot by the carabinieri. At first Mara’s identity was not known by police but BR quickly acknowledged that the Gancia kidnapping was their operation and that...

Punk Planet was a 16,000 print run punk zine, based in Chicago, Illinois, that focused most of its energy on looking at punk subculture rather than punk as simply another genre of music to which teenagers listen. In addition to covering music, Punk Planet also covered visual arts and a wide variety of progressive issues — including media criticism, feminism, and labor issues. The most notable features in Punk Planet were the interviews and album reviews. The interviews generally ran two or...

🔞🔞 This is Puppy Milk by Agatha Kartoffel 🔞🔞 It's an adults only QUEER zine comic.  It is dark & disturbing & was banned from multiple sites.  The creator was chased off the internet by fascists and tumblr wokescolds for making it.  Many see it as an important transgender work like "The Pervert" but others see it as poorly drawn, overly personal, and pedophilic.  I am confident it has merit, was not intended to be smut, & deserves preservation although it's...

The practice of making media print zines began in the late 1960s via science fiction fandom where fanzines had been a popular fan activity since the 1930s. However, the content of science fiction zines is very different, consisting mostly of non-fiction and discussion about a variety of fannish topics, whereas media fanzines include, or consist solely of, fanfiction, art, poetry, as well as discussion, usually about television shows, films, and books.  For other media fanzines uploaded...

Shadis was conceived and started by Jolly Blackburn as an independent gaming fanzine in 1990. In 1993, Blackburn formed Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) to publish Shadis as a quality small-press magazine, and brought on John Zinser and David Seay as partners. A year later, in late 1994, the magazine received its biggest success by including a random Magic: The Gathering card in each issue at a time when booster packs of the new card game were scarce; many players bought multiple copies of...

Topic: punk
This introductory zine explains the "non-profit industrial complex" and how it functions to limit radical movements. It draws heavily on the book "The Revolution Will Not Be Funded: Beyond the Non-Profit Industrial Complex" and presents examples of this works on an international and national level. This particular zine isn't the most nuanced argument, but it's a helpful introduction to the topic and asks important questions about the institutionalization of social struggles.

This zine presents a strong critique of the political identity of "ally" and the activists who have built an "ally industrial complex" based on their anti-oppression credentials. Written from the context of indigenous struggles, this zine criticizes and explains several different types of "allies": those who wish to "save" oppressed people, those who wish to use oppressed people to advance their own interests, academics, self-proclaiming allies, and more....

A collection of essays by ONA plus three academic works, all essential for gaining a genuine understanding of what the Order of Nine Angles is, what "membership" means. Many people have unfounded assumptions about ONA, or have warped views on what ONA is or was. This eBook will dispel the speculations and assumptions.

This is a mini-zine that functions as a pocket-sized guide to protesting. It provides basic information in an easy-to-distribute zine, covering topics such as what to bring (clothing, food, water, etc), what not to bring (drugs, alcohol, piercings, etc), what you will encounter at a larger protest (i.e. affinity groups and other concepts such as âdiversity of tacticsâ), and more. There is also a list of websites for more detailed information on the topics covered.
