Not my cup of tea. Ive listened to this about 3 times. First tune was probably not the most strategic to take but is was random; What Ever Happened To Rose makes me want to buy a pick up with a gun rack in the back of the cab. Bobby's humming reminds me of a faint Elvis impersonation. Gallop On The RunYes it is a country approach, Texas, Horses and lost time.....still not my cup of tea.....One More River To Cross,,okay but still aint hitting it for me...Gonesville, yea this is the upbeat tune, a foot taper, awesome to say it is not part of a twofer.....

Would i play it 'round the fire.....NOT

"Now, fans can take a step back and admire Bob Weir for the extremely gifted songwriter he's become. Hiding behind that post-Dead beard is a poet laureate of deep thinking and whimsy. His voice has taken on a character that finally replaces the forever-young, fresh-faced heartthrob fans knew so well, but even with age, he sounds as good as ever."

I hope this was provided by the PR folks; if this reviewer really wrote this, all that crap about liberal media bias might be true afterall, eh? Or the corollary: they are brain dead.

;)

Amen, Tell.

The merging of the marketing/PR type stuff with what passes for music journalism these days is a ponderous chain. I thought the jambase stuff was absurdly over the top but wrote if off as 'what-do-you-expect-from-jambase.'

Disappointing to see NPR jumping on this pile.

Sad; I did find that we call that BIZARRELY spiked "beard" a "Post Dead Beard", which is a name that is vague on a number of levels...is the BEARD dead? Is it that band (we all know that) that's dead? Is it a "post" beard, ie, the strands are almost posts, eh? It looks like some strange mammal, like a pangolin, in which the hairs are more like scales now...or gawd knows what in Bob's case.

On the other hand, chicks love it.

Right?

;)
