The present study deals with application of time-series modelling in agriculture. The mustard yield data of Hisar, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Mahendergarh and Gurgaon districts of Haryana have been considered for this empirical study. Autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) models have been fitted using the district-level time series yield(s) from 1966-67 to 2010-11 and the models have been validated for the post-sample period(s) 2011-12 to 2013-14 . After experimenting with different lags of...

Chaotic sequences have been widely used as pseudorandom sequences. But up to now, we have no simple and effective method to test and improve their autocorrelation and RFM autocorrelation performances. In the paper, by method of phase space, relations between autocorrelation and phase space trajectory were studied, simple and effective methods were presented to assess and improve their autocorrelation and RFM autocorrelation performances. Many simulations were presented, too.

An efficient crop forecasting infrastructure is pre-requisite for information system about food supply, especially export–import policies, procurement and price-fixation. The ARIMA models have been fitted using the time-series sugarcane yield data for the period 1966-67 to 2009-10 of Karnal and Ambala districts and 1972-73 to 2009-10 of Kurukshetra district. Models have been validated using the data on subsequent years i.e. 2010 to 2014, not included in the development of the models. . After...

Tanjung Emas Port area is the State’s entrance in Semarang City’s administrative area. Data shows a significant increase of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) disease cases from 38 cases in 2018 to 137 cases in 2019. The objective of research was to conduct a spatial analysis using spatial autocorrelation to find out the correlation pattern between locations. A descriptive and analytical observational study of 137 coordinate points of DHF patients was carried out for mapping purpose. This...

Using a geometric approach with ellipses, results warn that the autocorrelation presence reduces the T2chart performance, restricting the chart ability to signal a special cause that is acting in the process. A control chart is one of the main techniques of statistical control of process and using this technique means auto correlation absence among the data of measured quality characteristics. Some examples are presented to illustrate the detrimental effect of T2chart when autocorrelation is...

Speech Processing method is one of the important method used in application area of digital and analog signal processing. It is used in real world speech processing of human language such as human computer interface system for home, industry and medical field. It is the most common means of the communication because the information contains the fundamental role in conversation. From the speech or conversation, it converts an acoustic signal that is captured by a microphone or a telephone, to a...

An electrical power system is subject to constant adversities due to its complexity, sensitivity and physical dimensions. Special emphasis is given to transmission lines (TL) that are the most vulnerable elements of an electrical system. Although most of the occurrences of distortions in the voltage signals from atmospheric discharges and overload are not detrimental to the energy supply, it is important to have control of these currents, since this allows the classification of the fault type...

The purpose of this study is to test The Weak Form Efficient Market Hypothesis in Dhaka’s Stock Market. The study examined the distribution of equity returns by dividing the sample period into two sub periods of daily DSE General Index (DGEN) and sub periods are sample-1(2004-2007), and sample-2 (2008-2012). Also, monthly general index starting from 1990 to 2012 are taken as sample to test the Random walk model (RWM) and market efficiency. The sample included total 1099 daily observations for...

Construction of complex-valued unimodular stochastic sequences or waveforms whose autocorrelation can be made arbitrarily small outside the origin has been done. This has been accomplished both for discrete and continuous waveforms. Besides, multidimensional waveforms having such low autocorrelation properties has also been constructed. The unimodular low autocorrelation stochastic waveforms constructed have then been characterized in terms of mathematical objects called frames. The closeness...

The aim of this study to compare forecasting abilities of two time series models: Univariate autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) and autoregressive integrated moving average with exogenous variable, (ARIMAX). A stochastic time series model for live births series in Nigeria was built, starting from an identified univariate ARIMA model. The first step in formulating the ARIMAX model for the series was to identify a suitable ARIMA model for such series. ARIMAX time series model is a...

The sliding friction behavior of single filaments of SiO2, SiC, and an aluminoborosilicate has been determined. These fibers are used in thermal protection systems (TPS) and are subject to damage during weaving and aero-maneuvering. All fibers exhibited stick-slip friction indicating the successive formation and rupture of strong junctions between the contacting filaments. The static frictional resistance of the sized SiC filament was 4X greater than for the same filament after heat cleaning....

Rotation symmetric (RotS) Boolean functions have been used as components of different cryptosystems. This class of Boolean functions are invariant under circular translation of indices. Autocorrelation, a common characteristic of many datasets, refers to correlation between values of the same variable on related objects. It violates the critical assumption of instance independence that underlies most conventional models. In this paper, we provide an overview of research on autocorrelation in a number of fields with an emphasis on implications for relational learning, and outline a number of challenges and opportunities for model learning and inference.

It also provides a band-limited pseudorandom noise as input, thereby escaping the disadvantages of most deterministic signals while retaining the advantages of using true-band-limited noise. In addition, the PN test set has the capability to be used as a means with which the...

Arm trajectories using sequences of third-degree polynomials to describe the time history of each joint variable are presented and two approaches to the avoidance of obstacles are given. The equations of motion for the arm are derived and then decomposed into time-dependent factors and time-independent coefficients. Several new and simplifying...

Summer days with extremely hot temperatures in Taiwan have been increasing for the past few decades, and this continuing trend is expected to worsen heat-related mortality. To mitigate the corresponding health impacts, in this study, we developed a statistical state-space model to predict the number of extremely hot days in June–September for the next year. Based on historical data from 1951 to 2017, we estimated the climate change trend after adjusting for the nonlinear lagged effect of the...
