We're a little late this week, but we hope it's worth the wait, as Cal has been to the London Film Festival, bringing news of films by Christian Petzold, Andrei Zvyagintsev, Francois Ozon, and a doozy of a performance by Reese Witherspoon. The week's reviews consist of IRA thriller "'71," starring everyone's favourite young actor, Jack O'Connell, and scriptwriting comedy "The Rewrite," which was somewhat overshadowed by Marisa Tomei's jeans. Cal saw Susan Sarandon play...

This week we hit rock bottom in terms of class, as we review several films depicting trashy and/or deviant sexual behaviour. Saoirse Ronan sheds blood and taboos in her third outing this year, post-apocalyptic drama "How I Live Now," while her once-"Atonement" co-star James McAvoy is off the leash in crazed thriller "Filth." Elsewhere, Cal tuned in for sex addiction ensemble piece "Thanks For Sharing" and the sobering World War II-set...

Itâs Episode 60 of In the Mood for Podcast, a British-based film podcast hosted by Calum Reed of Ultimate Addict and Pete Sheppard of In the Mood for Blog. A peroni-less podcast sees Pete on his best behaviour when confronted with a listener question that dares to approach the subject of Keira Knightley (see, we will answer questions about literally anything!) and when forced to tackle âParis-Manhattan,â a French love letter to Woody Allen. Cal shows less resistance when he reviews âOnly...

The peak of the awards season is here and we need more one-armed pushups (Go Jack Palance!). As well talking about the Oscars in our own distinctive way, we take a look at Spring in a Small Town, The Turning, Back to 1942, and Shoah in our off the shelf section - and our film of the week is Blackhat. After all these serious films, we are off to watch something starring all the mullets. For more reviews and discussion, tune into The Geek Show LIVE every Monday from 6 to 8 pm (GMT), and follow us...

Producer Rob introduced us to Zorro: the Gay blade this week, honestly, it's real - look it up. That opened the traps up for off the shelf in which we reviewed legendary documentary Man With A Movie Camera, anarchic zombie comedy Wrymwood and the much anticipated Monty Python reunion in absolutely anything. Our Film of the Week was the Man from U.N.C.L.E. Now if you'll excuse us, we're off to finish our visit to Zorro's Unlikeliest of Uncle's. Thanks 1980s!

This week we invent an entirely new sub-genre of superhero movie. In a typically eccentric Off the Shelf we look at Housebound - the 2014 festival hit from Australia, Korean student drama Bleak Night, the long lost BFI Flipside title Requiem for a Village, and the British gangster thriller Age of Kill - which may have been the resuly of losing a drunken bet. The elaborately titled Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is our Film of the Week. Now if you'll excuse us, we're off to read this book that...
