Statistical procedures for shock models and wear processes are considered in this paper. We show that independent gamma-Dirichlet priors are conjugate priors when sampling from these shock models. Bayes rules given the observations are computed. In particular, we calculate the Bayes estimates of the survival probabilities for these models. This report describes a proposed method for modeling ballistic shock effects in vulnerability/lethality analyses. A novel approach is described which, under certain simplifying assumptions, can be implemented in a manner entirely compatible with the existing analytical environment.

A probabilistic model utilizing random material characteristics to predict damage evolution in textile laminates is presented. Model is based on a division of each ply into two sublaminas consisting of cells. The probability of cell failure is calculated using stochastic function theory and maximal strain failure criterion.
