The idea for a ball bearing clock was inspired by the "Idle-Tyme Clock " and "Time Machine Clock". However unlike those designs which have a maze of tracks to deliver the balls back to the start mine has a couple of funnels and a spiral. Also unlike those designs where the motor timing is critical for accurate time and the accuracy will degrade as the motor wears, in my design the accuracy is not dependent on the motor speed (once a minute the motor is turned on and the...

This is an enclosure for a very common Chinese speed controller you can find everywhere on the internet. There are a few different cheap speed controllers out there, this one comes up under the name "6V-90V 15A PWM DC speed controller" often. I bought the one I'm using about 6 years ago, it had a blue board, current models look to be green more often but it is the exact same layout looking at it. There's a spot for a SPST on/off switch with small alignment nub, the control...

Herewith i want to share my design of a RC boat motor mount. The motor mount is designed to mount a Graupner Bushless Speed 600 BB motor but can be used for numerous types of brushless and brushed motors with a mounting diameter of 25mm. I've integrated slotted holes at the side walls can be used for fixing the motor wires with cable ties. The motor angle can be adjusted 45 degrees. Measured torque of the screws has to be arround 60Ncm, not more! I've printed the parts with my Anycubic Photon...

Hi :) this pump I designed for my self-made cocktail machine to pump the non-alcoholics. The older version of my machine (check it out on [cocktailnator.de](https://cocktailnator.de)) used a compressor and a pressure system, with the peristaltic pump it is now way easier. So when you need to pump your liquids quick and don't wanna spend much money on a pump, this one will do the trick. With the right motor in place the pump moves 400ml / 20 sec. The pump is design for a high spin but finding...

Bidirectional control of a DC motor is achieved with standard power transistors and a simple transistorized pre-amplifier. A permanent magnet, DC motor is used as a test vehicle to illustrate the feasibility of control without an amplidyne or mechanical relay. The \"bang-bang\" capability of the controller to operate as a near-ideal \"relay\" is emphasized. The inherent flexibility allowed in selecting the switching characteristics is also demonstrated. The discussion points...

In support of the development of a new initiative in the field of multiplexed image spectroscopy, a high torque, servo system was developed. Utilizing only a low resolution shaft position encoder, the system demonstrated an excellent ability to track a pulse input signal with high precision and stability. Ultimately, this servo system will be incorporated into a new generation of multiplexed imaging and imaging spectroscopy instruments. It will provide those instruments with the capability to...

Recent improvements in rare earth magnets have made it possible to construct strong, lightweight, high horsepower DC motors. This has occasioned a reassessment of electromechanical actuators as alternatives to comparable pneumatic and hydraulic systems for use as flight control actuators for tactical missiles. A computer simulation was developed in order to provide a method of establishing the potential of brushless DC motors for applications to tactical cruise missile control surface positioning. In particular an altitude hold controller has been developed that provides an operational load test condition for the evaluation of the electromechanical actuator. A proportional integral control scheme in conjunction with tachometer feedback provides the position control for the missile tailfin surfaces....

I wanted to use some Lego wheels. I search on Thingiverse and found this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1750406. But when I printed it, it didn't quite fit the axle on the DC Motor so I designed this one. I've uploaded a newer design as my original would would break. Note: I recommend that you print this with ABS or other strong plastic. PLA will break too easily.

Hello I've been making bowls on the lathe for a few years now and typically have issues with drips when dealing with polyurethane, epoxy, etc. Printed up this guy to hold the slow RPM DC motor. The Arduino board isn't necessary, I just used it to throw in a potentiometer which can control the rotation speed perfectly. Throw some hot glue at the end to make the bowl stick. Enjoy if you like to finish bowls too!

This is a walking toy with 6 legs which uses a simple linkage found elsewhere. You only need 2 screws (M3), one with length 15 mm and the other 30 mm, for the gears' axles. For the motion source, a DVD or CD motor can be used. Place for batteries not included, anyway... I have to think where to put them. Single lithium ion cell at 3.7V is enough to propel the thing. Maybe a 9V battery will do too. For a complete set, print 2x frontaxle (which is identical to back axle), 4x frontleg, 2x midleg,...

This boat engine implements the principle of the pop-pop boat mechanically. Water is drawn into and expelled from a pressure chamber by means of a diaphragm moving up and down periodically. I mount the engine on a styrofoam "hull" and corrugated plastic "deck". The boat can move with speed about 15 cm/s. Notice that this engine has no underwater moving parts, the diaphragm is located above water level and only pushes and pulls trapped air inside the chamber. The diaphragm...

This paper presents a PFC (Power Factor Correction) Cuk converter fed BLDC (Brushless DC) motor drive and the speed of BLDC motor is controlled using fuzzy logic implementation. The PFC converters are employed to enhance the power quality. The Brushless DC motor speed is under the control of DC-bus voltage of VSI-Voltage Source Inverter in which switching of low frequency is used. This helps in the electronic commutation of BLDC motors thus decreasing the switching losses in VSI. A DBR (Diode...

This is a walking mechanism based on the Klann linkage, seen elsewhere in form of spider-like creature. Now instead of making one set of linkage for each leg, I copy the movement of the leg tip to the back side and connect them using two bars, here the foot and the connector. The wide foot surface would enable it to walk over soft terrain like sand, where common pointed legs could be stuck in. This set consists of 2 feet with 180 degree phase difference. With the dc motor, the speed is about 2...

This is a 1 : 232.5 gearbox utilizing double annulus planetary gear. First stage 8 : 31 gears reduce motor speed to the sun gear, then the planetary gears reduce it further by 1 : 60. The output is the second, smaller annulus (but with more teeth). It produces a lot of noise. Some holes are 3.2mm by design, which should allow a 3mm screw to rotate freely inside. Others are smaller and meant to be tapped for 3mm screw. Those holes are: - All holes in motor support - All holes in carrier Screws...

I created a box to hold a small pcb for a two way motor controller. Electronics used include Knacro board. https://www.amazon.com/KNACRO-controller-Reducer-forward-reverse/dp/B01GPSJZ1A/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1514394433&sr=8-6&keywords=knacro+dc+motor

Print this set, mount on a base platform, add batteries, connect with your favourite controller, and go! This is an implementation of the Chebyshev's Lambda mechanism for converting rotary motion into walking motion, which is very flat compared to others like Klann linkage or Theo Jansen linkage. The walking "point" or locus is located above the mechanism so the foot must be extended down from that point. Rather than making another lambda linkage for the rear support point ("hind...
