A unique documentary exhibit featuring photographs from the Civil Rights movement has made a stop at the Irving Arts Center. "This Light of Ours", presented by the Center for Documentary Expression and Art, tells the story of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and its’ organizing work in the rural south in the early 60’s. This exhibit offers visitors a remarkably intimate perspective on the place and times. Watch this story by Angela Lang for more good reasons to see...

This late 1950s black-and-white film about the Youth for Service program sponsored by The American Friends Service Committee Inc. of Northern California. Youth for Service was an inter-racial inter-faith organization founded by Carl May in 1957 that enabled youth to serve the community doing volunteer work projects. A group of 1950s dressed white teenage guys, one in a letter jacket, stand on a corner. A woman passes by and they watch her walk. A group of black teenagers stand on a corner...

monkey death machine is a music project I used to do every once in a while back in middle school. I was inspired by negativland. I made the songs by doing an altavista audio search for random words, heavily editing the sound files with cool edit pro and putting them together with drum loops and stuff using either sound recorder or acoustica mp3 audio mixer. the result is a big silly mess.
