Model Railway and Engineering Catalogue . Northampton: Bassett-Lowke Ltd., 1961. 172p., illustrated. Note on dating: The catalogue itself is undated. That it was published in September 1961 can be established in two ways. Firstly, an advertisement for it appears on the back cover of " Model Engineer " magazine No.3142 of 28/09/1961 illustrated with an image of the catalogue's cover; and another for it stating "just published" appeared in " Model Engineer " No.3143...

The size, structure, and composition of a population are affected by the fertility rates at any point of time. Many researchers took the opportunity to exploit the fertility rates in obtaining better fertility patterns for their country. The curve for the age specific fertility rate is consistent, and this feature allows the curve to be matched with a mathematical model. This paper aimed to identify the best mathematical model that fits the recent age specific fertility rate in Peninsular...

Outdoor furniture set H0 scale for model train scene. Created an easy to print version and a "good looking" version which my printer/printer settings can't handle at all. The easy to print version was printed without any supports (table was upside down when printed). The .stl files for the easy to print objects looks odd in the pictures above but seem to download ok. This mount simplifies the installation and later removal (if required) of the widely-used Tortoise (by Circuitron) Switch Machines used for operating model railway points (also known as switches or turnouts). The slotted holes in the mount allow some side-to-side adjustment, in order to equalise the movement and pressure on the point blades in both directions. The mounting holes are along the track centre line which better suits installation on narrow roadbed. Most importantly, the Tortoise...

Summary I have started playing with Design 123 and thought about fin sets that are easy to slip on existing tubes. Some are rockets that fins have been busted. This is my first go at doing it. Files are both in .STL and in D123 format. So, they can be resized and modded for any tube size. Enjoy! M.

This a OO scale model of an LNER J21 locomotive and tender. These locomotives were first built in 1886 for the North Eastern Railway. They were classified as J 21s by the LNER from 1923 and continued in operation after nationalisation until 1962. The body is designed to fit on a Hornby 0-6-0 chassis (available on ebay).

This is a OO scale model of an imaginary (but not totally implausible) ale wagon. These were cattle wagons that were repurposed to transport beer in the 1930s. It seems that breweries didn't actually have their own wagons, but if they did, they might have looked something like this.

Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers are used in many of the Industries for various process control applications. PID controller yields a long settling time and overshoot which is not good for the process control applications. PID is not suitable for many of the complex process control applications. This research paper is about developing a better type of controller, known as MPC (Model Predictive Control). The aim of the paper is to design MPC and PID for a pasteurization...

This is an openscad file to create a Pershing II model rocket nose cone. The maker can adjust the size of the nose cone based on the desired body tube size. For larger body tube sizes the height may exceed your printers z axis capability. In that case, it is possible to split the nose cone into up to 3 pieces that can be printed separately and then glued together. The dimensions came from the document "Pershing II Weapon System TM 9-1425-386-10-1". Some were specifically stated in the...

This is a 1:40 scale V2 missile based on a final project (a full scale model of the V2) for a CAD class. It takes B motors, and it is similar to a model in an NAR publication "The Art of Scale Model Rocketry." The body-tube can be printed or made from a BT-60 tube. I marked this as a WIP only so I can add more details to it later. It is DONE and can be flown.

This paper stochastically models a single-node telecommunications system both with and without the use of intelligent multiplexing. Intelligent multiplexers take advantage of the idle periods or silences that occur during the course of speech transmissions to merge (or multiplex) packetized talkspurts from more than one source onto a single channel. This allows for a more efficient use of available bandwidth, thereby reducing the amount of bandwidth required to carry a particular traffic load....

This adaptor is designed to make the process of converting an old Hornby ringfield motor easy, and most importantly reversible as no adhesive is required, meaning there is less likelihood of ruining the model during conversion and the motor can be fully replaced if necessary. The adaptor is a very tight fit, so should not require any adhesive to keep either it or the motor in place. If you find that the motor is a loose fit, I have added 2 small screw holes that can be used to secure it using...

This thesis assesses the methodology and input sensitivity of the Method of Screening Operational Concepts of Warfare (MOSCOW) model. This assessment illuminates the fundamental assumptions underlying the model's methodology and evaluates the model's sensitivity to small percentage changes of inputs. Results provide an estimate of MOSCOW'S limitations, suggesting which parts of the model may need to be improved.
