Tom Mansell performs live mixing of nature sounds he recorded over several years, at different locations around the USA. There are 3 parts to the performance: "Grass Lake Sanctuary" - sounds recorded at Grass Lake Sanctuary in Sharon Township, MI. The recording was done to mark World Listening Day 2010. "Water" - sounds of water in its various forms. "Birds" - many kinds of birds, from around the US.

They are 3.8 mil truncated conical, 2.3 mil truncated conical, 2.8 mil truncated conical, 3.3 mil truncated conical. These were recorded flat and then also equalized with RIAA. The preferred version suggested by an audio engineer at George Blood, L.P. is the equalized version recorded with the 3.3...

Recording I made late last night. The snow began to fall around 1am and continued until around 5. This was made at 2, when the undergrowth was just beginning to become invisible. There is a crackly quality to the sound also, which is both the imperial silence of the forest and also the partially-icy composition of the snowfall.

Recorded with Edirol RH-09 in the first week of August, near Berchtesgaden, Bavaria Germany. Almbach klamm and Wimbach klamm are gorges with spectacular waterfalls. Das Zauberwald (Magic Forest) is a special area with impressive rock formations and waterfalls. This collection contains sleep-focused background audio files. All except 4 of the audio files are 8 or 9 hours long. To allow all files to fit comfortably on an MP3 Player's 16GB microSD memory card, most files are highly compressed and encoded as 64 kbit/s 20050 Hz files. The neighborhood birds get very vocal every morning just before daybreak. As all birds do, I suppose. But you see, I wouldn't know, seeing as how I spent the most of my life in the city (Dallas), up until the past few years. Now I see sunsets spectacular and hear chirping morning birds galore, where has this been all my life and how can one not be delighted by it?
