A tv press conference (Context: http:terraininstruments.org/WMT.jpg) delayed this mono reel-to-reel recording. The protective tarp has yet to be hoisted; however, the image context does show Host Earl Eldridge of Cedar Rapids Iowa facing the foldable card table. This setup eventually was itself dwarfed by drooping weeping willow leaves directly over us and against the back hedge row. Six DSP +/-synced, copy/pasted monos, were assembled into this 2 track. Throughout, I was huddled and shared the...

Wind-as-main-trigger affected aspects of nearby trees during the 60s-90s simultaneously with leif BRUSH's solar powered terrestrial Terrain Instrument constructions- equipped for multiple monitorings from all local analog vibrations via pre-amped sensor output varieties- and were combined with the Jerry Chamkis synthesizer and Kosmophone; multiple year recordings are layered using these sound sources and the master 12-inch reel was released, full version -this copy, on two tracks in 2005;...

This is a Bowden filament force sensor that can be used to explore details of your printer setup. It comprises: Two 10kg load cells ( Size:80x12.7x12.7mm)(M4one end, M5 at the other end) Two M5 Pneumatic couplers One HX711 ADC module One NodeMCU V2. Two 28mm M4 bolts plus screws. The code for the NodeMCU can be found here: https://github.com/dagnall53/dEEbugger_PUBLIC/tree/patch-2 Use 28-30mm screws to connect the two sensors, and 8mm screws to connect the "opposite" housing. To use...

The magnetic field induced strain (MFIS) is key parameter for determining the ferromagnetic shapememory alloys (FSMAs) for the application of sensors and actuators. NiMnGa based FSMAs, having higher magnetic field induced strain was found to be prototypes for these applications. But, because of their brittleness using them practically is very difficult. To increase its ductility we have doped boron to the NiMnGa. We have made Ni50Mn30Ga19.5B0.5 alloy samples using the arc melting method and...

Various levels of deterioration can occur in buildings, because of aging or improper management. In recent years, the deterioration of tiled exterior walls of the buildings in Taiwan has become increasingly severe. This phenomenon not only reduces the aesthetic value of the city, but also threatens the life and property of the residents. However, current diagnosing techniques, including visual examination, tap tone diagnostics, and infra red thermography, for tile deterioration of the exterior...

The NPS Aerolab Low Speed Wind Tunnel located in Halligan Hall of the Navy Postgraduate School has been in operation since 1953. Although the tunnel is well maintained, its data acquisition system has not kept pace with modem technology. An effective but affordable solution for acquiring data was needed. It was determined that a software package known as LabVIEW would provide a low cost, data acquisition solution that will enhance the capabilities of the wind tunnel, while at the same time...

Concomitant mechanical and electrical testing of carbon nanofiber foam samples, generated using the constrained formation of fibrous nanostructures process reveal the material to be a unique ultra-low-density foam with electrical properties appropriate for application as strain gauge. Samples of CFF, essentially a solid mat of intertwined nanofibers of pure carbon, were grown in a steel mold at ~550 Celsius (C) from a variety of catalysts exposed to fuel rich mixtures of ethylene and oxygen....

For over half a century the NPS Aerolabʼ Low Speed Wind Tunnel located in Halligan Hall of the Naval Postgraduate school has served to provide students and faculty with meaningful aerodynamic data for research and problem analysis. New data acquisition hardware was installed three years ago but never fully verified, and contained no integrated software program to collect data from the strain-gauge balance pedestal. Existing National Instruments based hardware for the NPS low-speed wind...
