DETAILED ACTION 

Allowable Subject Matter 

1. Claims 1-7 are allowed. 

2. The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject 
matter: 

For claim 1 , the prior art of record does not disclose an input/output buffer 
protection circuit, wherein the gate control circuit comprising a transistor for passing a 
control voltage to the gate of the PMOS transistor in output mode. Moreover, there is no 
prior art teachings of an n-well control circuit providing a voltage drop down path from 
the gate of the transistor to the I/O pad that blocks the pad signal flow back to the gate 
of the transistor. 

The art of record does not disclose or suggest the above claimed features, nor 
would it be obvious to modify the art of record so as to include either of the above 
limitations.
